PRIVATE Villas 29 - Kaz Mountains
AN ANCIENT Shelter in Kaz Dağları
Kaz Mountains, also known as Ida, have a history dating back to the 2000s BC. The Kaz Mountains are famous for their connection to ancient myths, such as being the site of the world’s first beauty contest, Paris giving the Golden Apple to Aphrodite, and the spark that ignited the Trojan War. Homer also describes the Kaz Mountains in his famous epic “The Iliad” as the “land of fertile springs and the home of wild animals.”
The allure of the Kaz Mountains extends far beyond the borders of Ancient Myths. Thanks to being one of the places with the highest oxygen levels in the world, the Kaz Mountains continue to captivate visitors to this day.
Located in the Gure district of Balıkesir, the 16 villas form a harmonious unity with the healing environment of the Kaz Mountains, its pure air, and lush vegetation.
The Stonewrap Landmark Coffee Grey decorative stones, which contain shades of ash, earth, and olive, are a blend of slate and irregular stones. The resulting sturdy and elegant texture offers both a rustic and contemporary visual experience. Thanks to the natural finishes of the stones and their amorphous structure, each wall they are applied to is unique.
In this project, the use of Stonewrap stone veneer product as wall cladding is not only an aesthetic choice but also a tribute to the region’s heritage. This region, historically famous for its Greek stone craftsmen, is home to many historical stone buildings. The dry-stack technique preferred in these villas pays homage to the ancient wall construction traditions.
