ISTANBUL  Airport - CIP Lounge

The New Istanbul Airport will reach an annual passenger capacity of 150 million, when the construction of all units is completed and it will be one of the largest airports in the world. It was put into operation in April 2019. The THY business Lounge built at this new airport was established on a huge area of ​​9,200 m2.

Details such as low-level and easily accessible food counters for children are well thought out. A wide range of bakeries, from pita to simit, operate in the area, which is equipped with as much plants as possible. The interior design was made by the British Softroom design office. Later, the project took its final shape with the comments of THY and DO&CO representatives.

One of the most important details in the new hall is the art gallery organized by Istanbul Modern. A nice breathing point has been created for those who will wait for their planes for a long time.

Stonewrap Troy thin stone veneer in pearl color has a texture and shape of unique natural Stones from West Turkey. It was preferred for this special area for providing the desired territorial atmosphere at the new airport. Due to the static structure of the floor, the cladding material had to carry as little load as possible and it was requested that the unit weight of the products must be below 25 kilograms per square meter. Troy stone veneer for this project was produced with a special formulation in a weight of 23 kg/m2 and successfully took part in the project.
